=========================================================================== == 4.1 New version availability =========================================================================== The Personal Open Directory (POD) is under continual development and enhancement and therefore upgrades will be available at certain times. Please remember that the authors do have day jobs, and that this is an non-money making profit so the authors give up their spare time to work on this project - so don't expect them to be able to fix bugs within a few hours, it may take a few days (at the time of writing, patches have been available on the same day as the bug has been reported). New versions are available from the official POD download site hosted by John Grohol of PsychCentral ( http://psychcentral.com ) at: http://grohol.com/downloads/ =========================================================================== == 4.1.1 Announcement list =========================================================================== Upgrades are also announced via the moderated announcement only mailing list (in other words, you will only get announcements from the authors - no one else can post to the list). This list can be signed up to either via the web at: http://www.egroups.com/group/pod-support/ or by sending a blank email to: pod-support-subscribe@egroups.com Subscription does have to be confirmed before you are subscribed properly to this list - this stops people being signed up without their permission. =========================================================================== == 4.1.2 Support forum =========================================================================== Announcements are also made on the PsychCentral software support forum located at: http://psychcentral.com/forums/wwwthreads.pl?action=list&Board=software This forum contains bug fixes, patches, requests for support, help and general advice concerning POD and MaxComm scripts. If you post to the forum it is advisable (but not essential) to 'register' - this allows the forum software to 'mark' which topics (called 'threads' on the forum) you have read, to send you daily mailings of posts made that day (if you want) and to send responses made to your post to you by email (again, completely configurable). This is handy if you are having problems or have reported a bug and want to know as soon as somebody posts details of a fix, upgrade or workaround. =========================================================================== == 4.1.3 Why upgrades are necessary =========================================================================== Because this script is very dependent on the HTML output of the the Dmoz.Org system, this script changes frequently to keep up-to-date with changes the ODP makes to the formatting of their site.
